Start here
  1. Open Monthly plan and enter income, must-pay, savings, and your spending targets.
  2. Check Your numbers at the top — that’s your safe-to-spend picture for this period.
  3. Use Daily spending and To buy as you go.

Your numbers (this period)

Available (spend or extra invest)

New savings total (current + monthly)

Set income, fixed costs, savings, and spending targets for the month you’re editing.

Your month (EUR)

Plan values for the selected month/year only.

Copy includes income, must-pay, subscriptions, wishlist, jars, and the rest — but Daily spending lines dated in the destination month are removed so that month starts at zero. Delete resets this month to a fresh template (browser confirm first).

Budget period

Daily spending and cashflow use this window instead of only calendar months. Day 1 = calendar month; other days = rolling period (e.g. 25 → 25th through 24th next month).

Income

If pay lands in a specific account (not only your main spending account), choose it so Accounts & jars and Available treat that deposit as cash there.

Base income invoice for this month (optional)

Free sync: total income (base + extras) max €1,200/mo. for a higher amount.

Regular salary or default monthly take-home. Add one-off or variable pay below.

e.g. tournament prize, extra weekly pays, bonus — each line adds to your total. Use Credit to when that pay lands in a particular account or jar.

Extra income subtotal: €0

Must pay (monthly)

Add recurring costs. Use the category dropdown; “Other (describe)” adds a custom label. Cadence and Due (day) (1–28, monthly only) feed the Due next tab’s list (timing only). Those amounts already reduce income in the monthly plan — they are not subtracted again from available spend. Weekly / Biweekly: amount is per charge; the sheet uses a monthly equivalent for totals.

Each line can set Pay from so rent, utilities, etc. debit the right account in Accounts & jars and Available (monthly equivalent, same cadence as totals).

Total must-pay: €0

Pay yourself first

What’s left after must-pay and subscriptions is split between savings, investing, and (below) life spending. The numbers under your inputs update as you type.

  • Income after must-pay & subscriptions €0
  • Pay-yourself total (savings + investing) €0
  • Left after pay-yourself €0

Use this last line for your life spending targets in the next section (and buffer). If it turns red, savings + investing are more than what’s left after must-pay and subscriptions.

Life spending (targets)

Targets here are capped by what’s left after: income, must-pay, subscriptions (Subscriptions tab), and pay yourself first.

Premium (€6.99/mo) unlocks a denser advanced layout for the buckets below. Extra spending targets are available to everyone. Subscribe under the banner or in Settings.

Life spending pool (how it’s calculated)

  • Total income €0
  • − Must-pay total €0
  • − Subscriptions €0
  • − Savings (pay yourself) €0
  • − Investing (pay yourself) €0
  • = Life spending pool (max for buckets) €0
  • Your five targets (sum) €0
  • Headroom in pool / over €0

If “over”, lower a bucket or increase income / reduce must-pay, subscriptions, or pay-yourself.

    Your extra spending targets

The five buckets above are fixed names on this plan — use + Add category here for extra monthly targets (kids, travel, pets…). They count toward your life spending total, show up on the Daily tab tag list, and match log lines you tag to them.

    Accounts & jars

Add banks or jars here (not on the Daily tab). With an opening balance, spending tagged to that source draws from it first and what’s left is included in Available / what you have left. Use Include in Available spend per row to decide which sources count in that total; spending from Main bank or orphan/unspecified sources still hits the monthly discretionary slice.

This budget period (from today’s Daily date)

Daily log, to-buy list & life spending plan

Your life spending total (sum of the five targets above) is compared to the Daily tab budget-period-to-date log (see Budget period above). To buy items you mark as bought use unassigned space in your discretionary pool (pool for life minus those targets), not the five-bucket total itself.

    What’s coming due

Edit amounts on Monthly plan (must-pay) and Subscriptions. This tab is a calendar view: which subscription and fixed bills hit before this budget period ends, plus how your “available” pace looks. Listed charges are reminders only — they’re already in your monthly totals, so available is not reduced again.

    Subscriptions due in this window

From the Subscriptions tab — needs cadence and, for monthly, due day.

      Must-pay & other fixed costs

From Monthly plan → must-pay lines (same due/cadence rules).

        Daily allowance (safe to spend)

This period’s available (same jar/bank rules as the strip) divided by days left — matches the Daily tab when you’re in the live budget period.

Runway on safe to spend (rough)

How long this period’s safe-to-spend buffer might last at your average daily log pace (all tags). Date is indicative if pace stays flat.

        Subscriptions

Add fixed services (streaming, phone, software, etc.). Totals count like must-pay for savings, investing, and life spending. Same Cadence / Due (day) rules as must-pay (for the upcoming list — not a second hit to available spend). To copy the whole month (including these lines) to the next month, use Monthly planCopy plan to next month (or More month actions).

        Subscriptions total: €0

        Daily spending

        Quick add (mobile-friendly)

Uses the date above. Enter amount → optional label → Add to this day. New bucket tags and bank/jar rows are added on Monthly plan (under Life spending), not here — this list only picks what already exists.

Download all invoices at once as one .zip file (expense lines for that month plus subscription invoices and revenue invoices uploaded for that same calendar month).

Uses the calendar month of the date above — the same month as “Which day?”

Expenses without an invoice (this month)

Uses the calendar month of the date above — same as “Which day?” and the zip download. Lists business expense lines in that month with an amount but no file attached yet.

        What you have left
        €0
Same as Available in Your numbers above: discretionary pool after bought wishlist items and logged spending, adjusted if you use accounts/jars with opening balances.

This day only — selected date

Recurring subscriptions due this day: €0 Included in Daily total above; also listed first in the log.

From your Monthly plan, budget period setting, and this log for the date above.

        • Life plan (monthly targets) €0
        • Logged period-to-date (all buckets) €0
        • Life targets left vs log
Monthly life-bucket total minus period-to-date log — pace against category targets only (not the same as available above).

        How this tab works

Log what you actually spend, one day at a time. This does not change monthly targets; it measures use against them for the month you are viewing.

        • Pick a date for that day’s lines. Use Previous / Next or the calendar.
        • Bucket: pick the same life spending target as on the Monthly tab (Food, Hobbies, custom targets, …). Warnings appear if a bucket is ahead of a prorated share of its monthly target.
        • Account / jar: optional — links the line to a source you define under Monthly → Accounts & jars (same for Personal and Business plans).
        • Weeks are Monday–Sunday (see week row above).
        • Period-to-date follows your Budget period on the Monthly plan (or the full period if you’re viewing dates in a past budget window).

Expense lines for the selected day

Add one row per purchase. Description is free text; amounts are in EUR.

        To buy — wishlist

Track one-off purchases (mirror, phone, …). The monthly sheet sets five life buckets; anything left in the discretionary pool after those targets is unassigned (buffer / flex). Checking “Bought” commits that slice. The Your numbers / Daily “available” line is the pool after bought items and your daily log for the period.

        Vs monthly pool

        • Unassigned in pool (pool − five buckets) €0
        • Still on the list (not bought) €0
        • Bought (checked off) €0
        • Available now (after bought; plan log + opening − spend on included accounts) €0
        • Five-bucket plan vs daily log €0

If unassigned before wishlist is zero or negative, your category targets already fill (or overfill) the pool — treat wishlist as tightening that buffer.
